promoting youth engagement in our community

ABOUT US
The 2019 Park City, City Council election highlighted the need for a local youth group enabling young adults to get involved in local government and community events. Since forming, the Park City Youth Council has been committed to making a difference in the lives of youth throughout the Park City area. As the only neutral youth organization focused on local government and community enhancement, we provide high-schoolers an opportunity to become educated and get involved through our community engagement efforts, volunteer services and activities.
Henry Retzer realized there was not an easy way for Park City youth to get involved in local politics when his uncle ran for City Council in 2019. This motivated him to establish the Park City Youth Council, a platform high-schoolers can utilize to become educated on local politics and volunteer for City government and for the local community. Henry's step-brother, Marco Crosswhite's volunteer work in the 2021 Mayoral campaign sparked his instrumental involvement in the growth of the PCYC which has since been taken over by their younger siblings, Caroline Retzer & Maddie McHenry. What started off as sole volunteer effort, has grown into an organization engaging teens from three area high-schools in several platforms.
